PayNet announced the launch of the TOP function, the mobile phone can be used as a credit card machine, and the debit card can be completed by touching the mobile phone!

After launching DuitNow and JomPay, PayNet’s latest service is Tap On Phone (TOP). Merchants can use any NFC-enabled Android phone as a credit card machine, which saves the cost of a POS system or any terminal. Consumers only need to tap the debit card to the merchant’s mobile phone to complete the payment process.

At present, many local banks provide TOP functions, namely AmBank, CIMB Bank, Hong Leong Bank, and Maybank. Merchants can contact their banks to enable the TOP function.

Cashless payments are becoming more common in Malaysia, with most stores already supporting credit cards, debit cards, or e-wallets. Consumers have also become accustomed to using cashless payments for transactions.
