Before entering an endemic, the government has 7 to 8 issues to educate the people for self-testing and case tracking, and the existing SOP will be reduced to 1.
The government was originally scheduled to enter an endemic epidemic in early January, but due to the arrival of the Omicron variant, the government decided to postpone the declaration of an endemic.
Hishammuddin said the government will not open the country’s borders on a large scale to avoid a backlash. The government will also not be implementing a massive blockade of new ones, so it needs to be cautious in opening up the country’s borders.
Currently, the country has about three thousand new cases every day, with Selangor having the most new cases in a single day.
