Only students with family income below RM3,000 can get RM150 start-up aid!

15/01/2022

According to a message issued by the Minister of Education, Mohd Radzi Md Jidinwill release the Bantuan Awal Persekolahan or BAP for short on January 17. Eligible students will receive RM150 start-up aid.

Students who are currently studying in Primary 1 to Secondary 4 and whose family income is less than RM3,000 will receive RM150 of start-up aid. It is initially estimated that a total of 3 million students will receive RM150 of start-up aid. As for students who only entered the first grade of primary school in March this year, they will not receive the aid until they complete the registration.

I believe many people will be wondering why the government only distributes school-opening aid to students who are currently in the first grade of primary school to the fourth grade. This is because students who are currently enrolled in Form 5 and Form 6 have reached the age of 18 and can claim the RM150 eStart e-Wallet Reward.

The Ministry of Education will disburse the start-up aid based on the data in the existing database, and students will receive the start-up aid through a bank account. Students without bank accounts will receive cash aid.

Notice! If parents find that they have received less than RM150 of aid, they can ask the school or lodge a complaint with the County Board of Education.
