On the first day of Ramadan, Malaysia saw a further drop in daily Covid-19 instances, with 14,692 cases.

In the last 24 hours, Malaysia added 14,692 new Covid-19 positive cases, a reduction of 3,561 cases from the previous day.

According to Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, the total number of infections has risen to 4,234,087 since Covid-19 came in the country in 2020. Patients in Categories 1 and 2 accounted for 99.46% (14,613) of the 14,692 new cases reported, while Category 3 and above accounted for 0.54 percent (79 instances).

According to Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdulla, 19 of the 79 cases documented are unvaccinated, have incomplete immunizations, or have not been boosted. The total number of cases recovered was 20,383, increasing the total number of cases recovered to 3,997,786. There were 56 deaths recorded in Covid-19 fatalities yesterday, with 11 brought-in-dead. Since the commencement of the pandemic, a total of 35,069 people have died as a result of the coronavirus. There are currently 201,232 active cases.
