Over 6,000 youngsters have been fully vaccinated in Malaysia.

As of yesterday, 6,129 children aged five to eleven years had received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine as part of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids).

According to the CovidNow website, a total of 1,346,625 children in Malaysia have received the first dose of the vaccine, accounting for 38 percent of the country’s child population.

Meanwhile, 15,844,706 people, or 67.3 percent of the adult population in the country, have received the Covid-19 booster shot, 22,954,459 people, or 97.6 percent, have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and 23,230,239 people, or 98.8%, have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

A total of 2,853,182 adolescents aged 12 to 17 have finished the immunisation, accounting for 91.7 percent of the group, while 2,949,478 have received at least one dose, accounting for 94.8 percent.

A total of 25,702 vaccine doses were given out yesterday, with 8,752 initial doses, 5,292 second doses, and 11,658 booster doses, increasing the total number of vaccine doses given out under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 68,972,658.

Meanwhile, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub page, 56 people died as a result of Covid-19 yesterday, with Perak, Selangor, and Kuala Lumpur having the most cases (10), followed by Johor (eight), and Kedah (seven).

Melaka had three cases, Negri Sembilan and Pahang each had two, while Pulau Pinang, Sabah, Sarawak, and Terengganu each had one death.
