Newly implemented one-click account freezing feature by Maybank.
There are countless cases of bank account deposits being stolen, which causes fear and makes people scared to deposit large amounts of money in the bank. In order to protect consumer money, Bank Negara also advised all banks to improve their security procedures. Several banks have also introduced the capability to immediately freeze bank accounts.
On the MAE APP, users can freeze their accounts. When the MAE APP is open, users can select More from the function bar below. Users will be able to see how the Kill Switch works. Users have the option of clicking Kill Switch, choosing Deactivate M2u Access, and then choosing Deactivate Now. It’s important to note that by freezing the account in this method, users will no be able to to access Maybank2u through the website or mobile app and conduct transactions there.
However, the consumer automatic debit instructions will not be impacted by this freezing procedure, nor will Standing Instructions or Auto Debit. Additionally, this has no impact on the use of debit or credit cards, ATM withdrawals, or ATM transfers.
