After Selangor, the Negeri Sembilan state government has also declared November 18 as a special holiday.
According to a statement issued by the State Secretary of Negeri Sembilan, the Negeri Sembilan government has unanimously decided to declare Friday, November 18, 2022 as a special holiday in Negeri Sembilan after a meeting.
The announcement was made to facilitate voters to prepare for the polls in order to perform their civic duties, it was noted in the message.
Earlier, Selangor State Minister Amiruddin had also declared Friday, November 18, 2022 as a special holiday. Amiruddin pointed out that many people living in Selangor are expatriates and making November 18 a special holiday will facilitate people to return home to vote.
Amiruddin called on caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri to declare November 18 as a national public holiday.
From all indications, it is very likely that November 18 will be declared as a public holiday nationwide. Everyone can prepare for it first.
