Need to hand in your cell phone when voting?

According to the new voting process released by the SPR, voters will be required to hand in their cell phones before they can go to the ballot box to cast their ballot papers on November 19. The cell phone will be returned only after the ballot paper has been put into the ballot box.

The new voting process is divided into 10 steps, the first of which is to wait outside the polling booth for approval from law enforcement before entering the booth. The second step is to hand over your Grand Marquis card to the first worker and show your hands to prove you haven’t voted.

The third step is for the first worker to read out the voter’s name and ID number, while the second worker will check if the voter’s information is correct. At step 4, the second worker will ask you to put your left index finger into the colorfast ink. At step 5, the voter will receive the ballot through a third worker.

At Step 6, the voter will need to go to the EC official’s table and hand over their cell phone. At step 7, the voter will need to go to the ballot marking area to check the ballot. In step 8, the voter will place the ballot in the ballot box. Then in step 9, the voter can return to the EC official’s table to retrieve the cell phone. At step 10, the voter will need to exit the voting room.
