MSJ is no longer free! PM: The government has been paying MySejahtera developers since April this year!

04/10/2021

Because of the importance of MySejahtera as a tool to enhance the management of the pandemic, the government has decided to start paying for MySejahtera from April 1 this year.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said that the government would start paying the MySejahtera application developers from April this year. Still, the details of the payment and the total amount have yet to be finalised.

He pointed out that the MySejahtera app started as a corporate responsibility project for the developer, but the one-year free period expired on March 31 this year.

He said this in a written reply to questions from DAP for Lanang Alice Lau and DAP for Ipoh East Wong Kah Woh today.

“At the moment, the government has not yet made any payment to the system and application developers.”

He explained that the evaluation of the payment would be led by the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU), while other parties involved in the discussions also included the Ministry of Health, the Unit Kerjasama Awam Swasta (UKAS), the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia and the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) and the National Security Council.

He pointed out that, as with other government procurement contracts, MySejahtera developers must adhere to Service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure the availability of their services.

“Overall, there are still many issues with the MySejahtera app, but the app has been continuously improved since its launch. “

According to the report, the developer of MySejahtera is KPISoft PTE LTD.
