Under the Tariff price set by the Ministry of Trade and Consumer Affairs, the price of pure palm cooking oil in bottles (Minyak Masak Sawit Tulen Botol) will be regulated, i.e. the top retail price of 1KG bottle is RM6.70, 2KG bottle is RM12.70, 3KG bottle is RM18.70 and for 5KG bottle cooking oil is RM29.70.
If a consumer finds that a trader is selling above the ceiling price, consumer can report to the Ministry of Trade and Consumer Affairs.
However, it should be noted that only bottled pure palm cooking oil is included in the control list, while mixed cooking oil, sesame oil, peanut oil, rapeseed oil, etc. are not subject to control. Therefore, Knife Label Oil (Knife), Red Eagle Oil (Helang), and Sea King Oil all follow the market price fluctuation and are not controlled by the Ministry of Trade and Consumer Affairs.
