Malaysia-Singapore Land VTL open to all citizens of both countries!Effective from December 20!

14/12/2021

Malaysia-Singapore land VTL will be open to all citizens of both countries and all categories of travellers who have completed the vaccination. However, travellers will still only be allowed to cross the border by bus and not by private car or motorcycle.

Malaysia and Singapore have been implementing the air and land VTL since November 29, when only citizens, permanent residents and long-term permit holders of the destination country were exempted from segregated entry. This simply meant that only Malaysians were allowed to enter Malaysia from Singapore or Singaporeans were allowed to enter Singapore from Malaysia.

However, as of December 20, there will be no nationality restrictions, meaning that Malaysians can also enter Singapore from Malaysia and Singaporeans can enter Malaysia from Singapore. Those entering Singapore will still be required to report covid test results for seven consecutive days, while those entering Malaysia will be required to undergo testing for six consecutive days.

Those wishing to enter Malaysia must first apply online at https://mysafetravel.gov.my/. Those wishing to enter Singapore must first apply online at https://www.sinchew.com.my/go.gov.sg/vtl-portal.
