14/04/2022

According to the announcement made by Health Minister on 14 April at 4pm, the second booster dose will be voluntary for people with co-morbidities aged 60 years and above and will not be mandatory.

People aged 60 and above with co-morbidities can receive the second booster four to six months after the first booster. The Ministry of Health will provide the Pfizer vaccine as the second booster.

He also announced that people going abroad can also opt for the second booster dose of Pfizer, as some European countries do not recognise Sinovac vaccine.

The booster will also be available for people aged 12 to 17 years with moderate or severe immunodeficiency. This group will be able to receive the booster 28 days after the second dose of the vaccine, which will be the Pfizer vaccine.

Those aged 60 years and above who are in good health can discuss this with their doctor and receive a second booster according to their own considerations.
