This 49-year-old guy was discovered dead after going missing while swimming off the Desaru Coast.
The victim’s corpse was discovered about 5.30 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, according to Masri Ibrahim, operations chief of the Penawar Fire and Rescue Department.
“The body was found about 5km from where he was last seen and the victim was identified by his wife,” he stated to The Star.
Masri added that the department got an emergency call at 10:12 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27.
The man and his companion were having fun at the beach when he was carried away by the currents and vanished from sight.
“His 15-year-old son was saved by members of the public before we arrived at the scene,” he stated.
The individual was found dead, and it is thought that he drowned, according to Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora, who was notified.
He claimed that around 1:37 PM on Wednesday, authorities learned of the man’s absence.
“A search and rescue operation was also launched with assistance from the fire and rescue department, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), Bandar Penawar health clinic and Desaru Coast auxiliary police,” according to him.
