MAE users must make sure their phone operating system is compatible with MAE; otherwise, MAE will be unavailable starting April 19th.

Users of MAE, take note! If your phone operating system version does not satisfy the requirements, you will be unable to utilise the MAE APP.

According to Maybank, Android users must upgrade to Android 9 or higher, and Apple users must upgrade to iOS 13 or higher to avoid issues with the MAE APP.

If Android users continue to use Android 8 or earlier operating systems after April 19, 2022, they will be unable to access the MAE APP. After April 21, 2022, users who are still running iOS 12 or lower will be unable to access the MAE APP.

It’s worth noting that users of the Hongmeng mobile operating system are unaffected.

Users can find out what version of their mobile operating system they have by going to the Settings menu on their phone. Maybank’s latest strategy aims to improve online banking security and provide users with a better online banking experience.

Maybank launched the MAE APP, an electronic wallet platform. You can register for MAE APP whether or not you have a Maybank savings/current account. MAE APP accepts scan code payments and can also display QR codes for retailers to scan and pay with.
