Schools in the country have already started classes after the lively Lunar New Year school holidays in 2023. Next year 2024, schools will be able to enjoy 30 days of Lunar New Year and end of school holidays.
According to the Ministry of Education’s 2023/2024 school schedule, schools in Group A states will have their final holidays from February 9 to March 9, 2024, while schools in Group B states will have their final holidays from February 10 to March 10, 2024.
The first day of the Chinese New Year in 2024 falls on Saturday, February 10, and the second day of the Chinese New Year falls on Sunday, February 11, and Group B cantonal schools will have an extra day of special leave, which will begin on February 9.
Group A states include Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, while Group B states include Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.
