The number of flood evacuees in Sabah falls, while it rises in Johor and remains unchanged in Pahang.

Flood evacuee numbers decrease in Sabah, increase in Johor, and remain unchanged in Pahang.

As of 8 a.m. today, a total of 4,489 people were at flood relief centres in three states, with the number of evacuees decreasing in Sabah, increasing in Johor, and remaining unchanged in Pahang.

In Sabah, the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) reported that the situation in flood-affected areas had improved and that the number of evacuees had decreased to 1,664 from 651 families last night from 1,723 (673 families).

The evacuees were housed in nine relief centres in Pitas, Lahad Datu, and Paitan.

In Pitas, 1,363 evacuees from 565 families were housed in four relief centres, 259 (76 families) in four Paitan centres, and 42 (10 families) in one LahadDatu centre.

As of this morning, one relief centre at Paitan’s Binsulung Mosque had been closed.

The number of evacuees in Johor increased slightly to 2,511 from 2,216 last night, according to the JPBN.

Three more relief centres have opened, bringing the total number of centres established in Mersing, Kota Tinggi, Kluang, Batu Pahat, Segamat, Tangkak, and Muar districts to 33.

Mersing had the most evacuees (836), followed by Batu Pahat (694), Kluang (422), Kota Tinggi (416), Segamat (123), Tangkak (15), and Muar (5).

The number of evacuees in Pahang remained constant at 314 from 96 families at three relief centres in Kampung Setajam (165), Kampung Rekoh (122), and Kampung Denai (27).
