20/10/2021

Do you still hold an overdue road tax or driver’s license? Then you need to remember to renew it before December 31!

According to a news release from the Road Transport Department (JPJ), people are urged to renew their overdue licenses and road taxes before December 31, 201. The authorities will start banning drivers who use overdue licenses and road taxes on the road in January 2022.

Now you no longer need to make an appointment to renew your driver’s license and road tax at JPJ, but only those who have completed two doses of vaccination can go to the JPJ counter for the service. In addition to the JPJ branch, PUSPAKOM and POS also provide license and road tax renewal services.

However, it is important to note that RM2.50 will be levied on the renewal of driving license and road tax at POS, compared to RM2.00 previously.

You can also choose to renew your road tax and driver’s license online first. Then you can go to JPJ to get your new license or road tax, which will save your time waiting at the JPJ counter.

For those who want to renew their road tax and driver’s license online, you can visit https://public.jpj.gov.my/public/login.zul to login or register your account. Then select the Renew Driver’s License and Road Tax service and complete the payment online. Once you have completed the online renewal, you can go to the selected JPJ branch to collect your license or road tax.
