Johor will hold a state election! The Sultan of Johor has approved the dissolution of the State Assembly!
According to the official Facebook post of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim of Johor, the Sultan of Johor has signed the approval for the dissolution of the state assembly to hold state elections. The Sultan of Johor signed the proclamation to dissolve the State Assembly during his meeting with the Minister of State of Johor at around 5:00 pm.
Under Article 23(2) of the Johor Constitution 1895, the 14th Johor State Assembly has officially ended on January 22, 2022.
Johor State Minister Datuk Seri Hasni is expected to hold a press conference at 6pm this evening.
