JKJAV Releases 3 Things to Know About Childhood Vaccinations!

13/02/2022

The vaccination program for children between the ages of 5 and 11 is moving along in an orderly fashion! JKJAV has also released 3 recommendations for childhood vaccinations.

To reduce crowds at vaccination centers, the Ministry of Health allows only one parent or guardian to accompany the child during vaccinations. Children who are to be vaccinated should also have enough rest and eat before going to the vaccination.

After a child is vaccinated, parents should make sure that the child has not engaged in strenuous exercise for a week. There have been many cases abroad where children have developed pericarditis and myocarditis after strenuous exercise following vaccination.

The Ministry of Health has listed about 1,000 schools in the country as vaccination centers, where children between the ages of 5 and 11 will be able to receive vaccinations.

As of February 10, 79,393 children have received their first dose of the vaccine, of which 28,661 are from Selangor. There are 17,887 in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, 17,877 in Sarawak, 4,962 in Sabah, 3,425 in Malacca and 2,728 in Negeri Sembilan.
