Floods in Terengganu and Sabah continued to recede, leaving only one temporary evacuation centre (PPS) in each state operating as of tonight, while all PPS in Kelantan were closed.

The secretariat of the state disaster management committee (JPBN) in Terengganu reported that the number of flood victims placed at Masjid Kampung La PPS in Besut remained at 53. (from 12 families).

However, because most of the victims’ homes were destroyed by the monsoonal deluge, all of the victims are expected to stay at the PPS for an extended period of time.

In Sabah, the number of evacuees affected by the phenomenon of king tides fell to 688 and remained at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Anib 2 in Sandakan, down from 1,454 this afternoon.

In Kelantan, the last PPS in Pasir Mas, Pusat Tarbiyah Pohon Buluh, which housed only 17 people (five families) this afternoon, was completely closed at around 6.15 p.m. after their homes were deemed safe to live in again.
