In Malaysia, the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination was delivered to over 800,000 children.

Under Malaysia’s National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children, a total of 805,676 children aged five to eleven, or 22.7 percent of the population, had received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as of yesterday (PICKids).

According to the CovidNow website, 14,517,869 people, or 61.7 percent of the adult population in the country, have received the booster dose, and 22,948,037 people, or 97.5 percent, have finished the vaccination, with 23,227,580 people, or 98.7%, having received at least one dose of the vaccine.

In the case of teenagers aged 12 to 17, a total of 2,800,421 people, or 90%, have completed their vaccination, while 2,893,860 people, or 93%, have received at least one dose.

A total of 118,275 vaccine doses were given out yesterday, with 54,858 being the first dose, 577 being the second dose, and 62,840 being the booster dosage, bringing the total number of vaccine doses given out under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 66,986,213.

Meanwhile, 43 Covid-19 deaths were reported yesterday, according to the Health Ministry’s Github page, with nine cases in Sabah, eight in Selangor, seven in Johor, six in Perak, five in Kedah, two each in Kelantan and Pahang, and one each in Melaka, Sarawak, Terengganu, and Kuala Lumpur.
