More than 25% of children are fully vaccinated.
In Malaysia, a total of 1,019,609 children aged five to eleven years have completed their vaccinations through the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids), accounting for 28.7% of the population.
According to the CovidNOW website, at least one dose of the vaccine has been given to 1,617,807 children in the same age group, or 45.5 percent.
A total of 2,902,847 teenagers aged 12 to 17 have completed the vaccination, accounting for 93.3 percent of the country’s population, while 3,000,780 have gotten at least one dose, accounting for 96.4 percent of the population.
As of yesterday, 16,060,675 individuals, or 68.3 percent of the country’s population, had gotten the booster dose, with 22,970,710 (97.6%) having finished both doses and 23,246,079 (98.8%) having received at least one dose.
Meanwhile, five Covid-19-related deaths were reported in Malaysia yesterday, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub page, with two cases in Selangor and one each in Perlis, Penang, and Sabah.
