In April 2022, the CPI rises 2.3 percent, with food inflation at 4.1 percent.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rises 2.3%.

According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DoSM), the Consumer Price Index (CPI) grew by 2.3 percent to 125.9 in April 2022, up from 123.1 the previous year.

According to the DoSM’s CPI April 2022 released today, the increase exceeded Malaysia’s average inflation from January 2011 to April 2022. (1.9 per cent).

Food inflation in April was higher at 4.1 percent, according to chief statistician Datuk Sri Mohd Uzir Mahidin, with 89.1 percent of food products in the food & beverages (F&B) group experiencing increases.

Restaurants and hotels (3.2%), transportation (3.0%), furnishings, domestic equipment, and normal household maintenance (2.7%), other products & services (1.8%), and recreation services & culture (1.3%).
