Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has drawn international condemnation, with many major companies announcing sanctions back and forth, including Disney, and even pornographic websites have joined the ranks of Russia’s sanctions.
Today (March 4, 2022), another company announced that it would join the sanctions against Russia, including IKEA, a Swedish home furnishings retail company, H & M, a Swedish fashion company, and Burberry, a British fashion brand.
IKEA, H&M, Burberry, and BooHoo have announced that they have suspended all imports and exports to Russia, as well as manufacturing operations and retail services in Russia. Despite the suspension of services, the shopping center Mega will remain open to ensure Russians continue to have access to everyday essentials.
H & M said the company is deeply concerned about the tragic developments and that they will stand with all those who are suffering and call for peace.
IKEA also noted that the company’s fund will immediately donate 20 million euros (about RM92 million) to people displaced by the war in Ukraine.
