One user noted that his 5 family members’ Shopee accounts were suddenly blocked by Shopee, possibly because he and his family members used the same Shopee coupons to place orders. The user said that he and his family members may have used the RM3 mobile bill discount coupon offered by Shopee at the same time and were detected by Shopee’s system as a fake account swiping the coupon. Understandably, multiple devices connected to the same WiFi and performing the same action at the same time, such as grabbing a coupon, may be automatically identified by the system as a fake account swipe. If the same device is used to place multiple orders within a short period of time using coupons, it may also be identified by the system as a coupon swipe. Recently Shopee introduced coupons for RM3 and RM4 discounts on mobile prepaid cards and bills, and many users chose to grab these coupons at 12 midnight to purchase mobile prepaid cards or pay their mobile bills. If a household connects to the same WiFi and uses the coupons to place an order at 12 midnight, this action will be detected by the system as a violation. We recommend that when shopping with coupons on Shopee, try to avoid making multiple repeat orders in a short period of time. If you are connected to the same WiFi as your family, you should also try to avoid using the same coupon to place an order at the same time. Shopee’s system is very sensitive and will block the account in question if it detects multiple duplicate orders from the same IP address.
