Government will pay RM500 unemployment benefit (BKP) from October 26!
According to Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the government will release a lump sum of RM500 unemployment benefits (BKP) to those who have lost their income starting from Tuesday, October 26. A total of about 870,000 people will benefit from the unemployment benefits, involving a total of RM434 million.
The government will grant unemployment benefits based on data from the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and the Social Security Organization (SOCSO) in 2021. If you are not a member of SOCSO, then you are not eligible for unemployment assistance benefits. Recipients must be between the ages of 21 and 60.
The government has also set up a website where people can search for unemployment benefits, which also displays information such as frequently asked questions about unemployment benefits.

The unemployment compensation( Bantuan Kehilangan Pendapatan) was announced by former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin in June to help people survive the epidemic.
