The government is giving away free tablets to tertiary students! The program will be open for applications in mid-April and distribution to eligible tertiary students will begin in June.
The PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia is a government assistance program to help tertiary students from low-income families. Through this program, tertiary students will receive a free tablet computer.
The tablet distributed through a college student equipment program in Malaysia will have to meet specific specifications, so college students can not worry about getting a low-quality tablet. It is understood that the free tablet must have a screen of no less than 10.1 inches, a keyboard and stylus, and no less than 4GB of memory.
A tertiary student device program in Malaysia covers students from public and private tertiary institutions, community colleges and higher education departments. Students are eligible to receive the free tablet as long as their household income does not exceed RM4850.
Applications for the free tablets will be opened in mid-April and can be distributed to tertiary students as early as the first week of June. Tertiary students with incomplete applications, rejected applications and omissions can appeal.
The government will announce how to apply and how to receive the tablets later.
