The government has announced the abolition of mandatory temperature measurement and the use of registration books before entering stores.
Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hisham Mudin announced that the existing policy of taking body temperature before entering public places will be abolished from February 11, 2022 (Friday). The Cabinet has accepted the advice of the Ministry of Health, which is to remove the temperature measuring devices in front of stores.
Businesses will no longer need to prepare temperature measuring devices and handwritten registers. However, people still need to check-in with MySejahtera when entering the store.
However, Hisham muddin did not elaborate on how people without MySejahtera can register their information before entering the store.
In addition, Hishammuddin noted that the government is not likely to reintroduce a nationwide lockdown and will only implement the Enhanced Exercise Control Order (EMCO) in locations where there is a potential surge in cases.
The government will take additional action if there is an increase in the use of intensive care units. At present, although there is a sharp increase in each new case, the number of people requiring admission and treatment in ICUs is low, which means that the country’s healthcare system is under control.
