From May 16 to 20, Sarawak records 213 new Covid-19 cases.

According to the Ministry of Health’s CovidNow website, Sarawak recorded 213 new Covid-19 infections between May 16 and 20.

Sarawak saw 50 new cases on May 20, followed by 58 cases on May 19, 51 cases on May 18, 29 cases on May 17, and 25 cases on May 16. Sarawak reported 362 active cases as of Friday, bringing the overall number of infections to 306,194.

The 30-39 age group accounted for 25.5 percent of all infections detected in Sarawak this week, followed by the 18-29 age group (22.8 percent), 50-59 age group (8.7%), 60-69 age group and 0-4 age group (7.4% each), and 12-17 age group (7.1 per cent).

As of Friday, Sarawak had one active Covid-19 cluster in Serian, which was identified earlier this month. A total of 14 cases have been reported by the DTI Semuja 4 Cluster.

On Friday, there were 2,063 new cases recorded across the country, increasing the total number of illnesses to 4,487,482. There were 29,229 active cases in the country as of Friday. The 18-29 age group produced 26% of the country’s cases this week, followed by the 30-39 age group (24.1%) and the 40-49 age group (15.8 per cent).
