According to a news release from AmBank, users will need AmSecure to verify transactions when making FPX transfers at AmOnline, which was previously done through SMS TAC. This measure will take effect from 19 September 2022.
If you have not yet enabled the AmSecure feature, you can activate AmSecure by opening the AmOnline APP, going to Menu, then Sign-In & Security, and going to the AmSecure section.
AmSecure is an in-app verification program introduced by AmBank to replace SMS TAC. Users will receive a pop-up window to verify the transaction when making a transaction and they can simply click to confirm or reject. With AmSecure, users no longer need to wait for SMS TAC to validate their transactions.
The benefit of AmSeucre is that users no longer need to wait for an SMS and will no longer be faced with not receiving an SMS TAC in the event of poor network conditions.
Several banks in our country have already launched in-app verification of transactions, such as Maybank’s Secure2u, CIMB’s SecureTAC, Hong Leong Bank’s AppAuthorize and RHB’s Secure Plus.
