Government will distribute BKM in Jan 2023!

When Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar presented the mini-budget to Parliament on December 20, 2022, he stated that the government would distribute the Bantuan Tunai Rakyat, or BTR, in January. Singles will receive RM100 while families will receive RM300.

Bantuan Tunai Rakyat programme will help 9 million people and will cost RM2 billion. This aid scheme will take the place of the previous government’s Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia, or BKM.

The BKM will be distributed in multiple phases, the first phase of which will be disbursed in January.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Anwar announced that the government will provide RM150 to all primary and secondary school students in January 2023. Regardless of the income of their parents, each student can receive RM150.

Bantuan Awal Persekolahan (BAP) is a government policy that has been in place for many years, distributing aid to primary and secondary school students in January. Previously, cash aid was only available to students from low-income families, but beginning in 2023, it will be available to students of all income levels.

Students will be given start-up funds through the school.
