Drug Regulator (PBKD) approved Pfizer vaccine for children 5 to 11 years old

According to an announcement made by the Malaysian Health Minister, the drug regulator (PBKD) approved registration of two vaccines, one of which is for children aged 5 to 11 years.

The Pfizer/COMIRNATY vaccine is available to children aged 5 to 11 years at a dose of 10 mcg. The pediatric vaccine is one-third of the adult vaccine and has a lower efficacy (Kekuatan).

In addition, the drug regulator has approved a new formulation of COMIRNATY vaccine. This vaccine does not need to be thawed before administration and can be left at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius for 10 weeks, compared to 1 month for the previous formulation. The vaccine is intended for persons 12 years of age or older.
