According to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP), when purchasing a rapid antigen test kit, it is important to ensure that the product is certified by the Ministry of Health’s Medical Devices Authority (MDA). As of 5 November, 59 kits have been certified.
A wide range of rapid antigen test kits are currently available on e-commerce platforms, but it is recommended that you only buy from trusted suppliers, such as reputable pharmacies.
Rapid antigen test kits are generally available in 2 types, namely saliva and nasal samples, and saliva only samples. It is different and should follow the instruction carefully.
The price of rapid antigen test kits varies by brand, the cheapest kits on the market are Alltest around RM6.60, Newgene around
RM7.79 and Beright around RM8.50.
5 things to look out for when buying rapid antigen test kits
1. Buy products that are approved by the Medical Devices Authority (MDA) of the Ministry of Health.
2. Buy from a trusted supplier (especially online).
3. 59 kits have been approved for sale by the MDA.
