Our country will experience much hotter weather at the end of May.

At the end of May, Malaysia is expected to enter the southwest monsoon season, which will bring minimal rain and much hotter weather.

Each year, the southwest monsoon season starts from late May until mid-September. Because the wind direction is fixed from the southwest during the southwest monsoon season, the air humidity may be quite low and the airflow will be generally stable.

This may result in fewer gloomy and wet days, as well as fewer thunderstorms and heavy rain. There could be more dry days ahead.

Every year, the months of July to September are the hottest and driest. There will be a haze throughout these months, based on prior years’ experiences. However, sometimes the smog is only mild, and after a few years, it becomes so terrible that schools must close.

The Meteorology Department will make a statement soon announcing the precise date of the southwest monsoon’s arrival. In any event, everyone should drink plenty of water and reduce outside activity during this time. We must also save water and refrain from public burning.
