The number of flood evacuees in Pahang, Kelantan, and Terengganu had increased.

Perak and Johor have seen no change in the number of flood victims since last night, while Pahang, Kelantan, and Terengganu have seen an increase this morning.

As of 8 a.m. today, the Perak Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) reported 134 victims from 31 families at the relief centre (PPS) at Dewan Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Abd Rahman Talib (SMART).

The Malaysian Meteorology Department predicts a thunderstorm for the entire state of Perak in the evening, and rain in Hilir Perak at night.

In Johor, the total number of flood victims at the PPS at Balai Raya Kampung Batu Badak in Segamat remains at 27, with nine families from Kampung Seberang Batu Badak and Kampung Batu 5 Segamat evacuated after Sungai Muar overflowed due to heavy rain.

The water level of the Muar River in Kampung Awat, Segamat, has exceeded the warning level with a reading of 19.88 metres, while the Muar River in Buloh Kasap, Segamat, is at the warning level of 8.94 metres, and Sungai Sembrong in Batu Pahat is at the alert level with a reading of 10.06 metres, according to data from the Drainage and Irrigation Department.

According to the JPBN Secretariat in Pahang, the number of flood victims at the state’s 11 PPS increased to 573 this morning, up from 561 last night.

Temerloh district had the most flood victims, with 383 people in a PPS, followed by Lipis (two PPS, 89 victims), Raub (five PPS, 53 victims), Jerantut (one PPS, 20 victims), and Bera (one PPS, 20 victims) (two PPS, 28 victims).

The JPBN Pahang Secretariat also reported that the water in two rivers in the state, Sungai Triang in Bera and Sungai Pahang in Lubuk Paku, Maran, has passed the danger level, while four others, including Sungai Belat in Kuantan, are at the warning level.

The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in Raub this morning, while other flood-affected districts are expected to see thunderstorms in several areas today.

In Kelantan, 1,157 students from 376 families are enrolled at five PPS in Rantau Panjang’s Pasir Mas district, including Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tok Deh (590), SK Gual Periok (323), Masjid Mukim Padang Licin (46), PPS Putat Tujoh (83) and SK Kubang Kual (115).

In Terengganu, the number of flood victims has risen to 659, involving 168 families, up from 593 from 151 families last night, with 11 PPS operating.

According to the Terengganu JPBN Secretariat, the Kemaman district is the most affected, with 305 victims at four PPS, including Kuala Nerus (216 people in two PPS), Kuala Terengganu (92 people in two PPS), Dungun (42 people in two PPS), and Setiu (four people at one PPS)
