Microsoft will end support for Windows 8.1 on January 10, 2023!

According to information released by Microsoft, Windows 8.1 will no longer receive official technical assistance and software updates as of January 10, 2023.

This means that devices running Windows 8.1 will no longer receive technical support, software updates and security updates from Microsoft from January 10, 2023. Although users can continue to use devices running Windows 8.1, their devices may be at risk of viruses and malware.

Microsoft is urging users to upgrade their systems to the latest version. If the device does not meet the basic requirements for the upgrade, Microsoft recommends that users replace their devices with those that support Windows 11.

Microsoft terminated support for Windows 8 back in 2016, while its revised version 8.1 will lose support only in January 2023.

Windows 8 was released mainly for devices with touch screens, but after a strong backlash from users, Microsoft had to release Windows 8.1, which reintroduced the Start feature.
