The number of flash flood victims in Sri Gading, Batu Pahat, had risen to 255.
As of 8 o’clock this evening, there were 255 flash flood victims in the nearby town of Sri Gading, up from the 204 reported this morning.
One of the five flood-affected communities, Kampung Baru Seri Gading, provided the additional evacuees.
At Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan, 72 families are looking for shelter at the moment (SMK).
According to the committee, residents in Taman Sri Panchor, Kampung Sengkuang, Pekan Sri Gading, and Kampung Sri Tanjung are also impacted by the flooding.
The tidal surge at roughly 3 am and the constant heavy rain from 1.30 am to 5.30 am contributed to the flash floods.
