According to MacRumors, Apple and its current service partners can offer services to repair Face ID on the iPhone without replacing the entire phone device, providing customers with a cheaper and more environmentally friendly means of repairing their devices!

As reported last week, Apple retail stores and authorised service providers will soon receive parts for the True Depth Camera system, including the front-facing camera and Face ID.

Additionally, in a new memo today, Apple said it has begun sending parts to Apple Store locations and authorised service providers and will allow Face ID repairs to be made without a full replacement. It’s worth noting that repair prices will vary depending on the service provider, location, and device. Of course, the new repair plan only applies to the iPhone XS and later models. Ironically, the iPhone X, which debuted with Face ID, is not supported for replacement.

Apple said the new repair options do not apply to 19 countries, including Argentina, Barbados, Bermuda, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

But for Malaysia’s iPhone users the memo also did not provide any timetable, indicating when the expansion to other countries would occur. iPhone users who are interested in the service can keep an eye on Apple’s official announcement and hope he will announce the schedule soon!
