Agong attends the Raya open house hosted by PM.
Today, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah attended the Aidilfitri open house hosted by the Prime Minister and Ministers in Seri Perdana.
His Majesty was met by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali upon his arrival at 11.30 a.m. yesterday.
Al-Sultan Abdullah was then led to a separate dining area where he was served traditional village fare.
This is Ismail Sabri’s first open house since being appointed Prime Minister on August 20, 2021, with the theme ‘Raya Keluarga Malaysia, Syawal Dirai, Nikmat Disyukuri.’
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, the Prime Minister and Ministers’ Aidilfitri open house has been postponed for two years.
It was last conducted at Seri Perdana on June 5, 2019, and was hosted by then-Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Cabinet members.
His Majesty, escorted by Ismail Sabri, moved to the main tent at Laman Sari to meet and greet the tourists after eating the food.
Visitors were evidently enthralled by His Majesty’s presence in the tent prepared for them, and Al-Sultan Abdullah spent time socialising with them. Requests to take photographs with the King were also granted.
Meanwhile, Hissyamuddin Hassan, 39, who has a special needs child, Afif Khairullah, seven, was moved when His Majesty walked up to him and greeted his son, who has Dravet Syndrome.
When the Majesty noticed Hissyamuddin’s son in a stroller, he came over to our table and inquired about his condition, according to Hissyamuddin.
After an hour at the open house, Al-Sultan Abdullah left. It was last conducted at Seri Perdana on June 5, 2019, and was hosted by then-Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Cabinet members.
