After breaking his fast, a 17-year-old Malay secondary school student unexpectedly fell unconscious. He was taken to the hospital, and then later passed away. Yesterday evening at around 7 o’clock, the event took place in Madang, Kuching, at a religious boarding school. The person who died was a citizen of Kampung Bin Tawar.

It has been reported that the person who passed away and his roommate started eating dinner last night when it was time to break the fast. Shortly after eating, the roommate unexpectedly fell and went unconscious.

When the roommate realized that things were not looking good, he quickly called the teacher to the situation for help. Together, they lifted the boy into the car and hurried him to the emergency room of Kuching Sarawak General Hospital for immediate care.

The secondary school student was found to be unconscious when he entered the emergency room. The on duty medical staff immediately placed him in the red zone for rescue. The person who died acknowledged that cardiopulmonary resuscitation by medical personnel had failed after a 30-minute relay, at which point he had been declared dead.
