Education Minister Farina said that schools need to discuss with the Parent-Teacher Association how to hold graduation ceremonies.
Farina responded to the Ministry of Education’s stance on the future handling of controversial incidents involving graduation ceremonies held in hotels after attending a ceremony to hand over mock checks of the school-opening assistance fund to the district education bureaus in Selangor at Uk Hua National Chinese Secondary School in Kajang today.
“It is very important to consult with parents and parent-teacher associations on how the graduation ceremony will be held. If there is any objection, relevant opinions need to be listened to and the relevant issues need to be resolved at the school level.”
“We encourage medium-sized graduation ceremonies that are lively and grateful, especially for our children, and most importantly a ceremony that everyone can celebrate.”
