A man who has been following Billie Eilish and threatening her friends and family was the target of a restraining order that she was able to obtain.
Eilish claimed in court documents seen by The Times that since September, Shawn Christopher McIntyre, 53, has messaged her and her family on social media hundreds of times. “Disturbing professions of love to me and other disturbing, violent threats against my brother Finneas Baird O’Connell” were included in the messages addressed to Eilish, her mother Maggie May Baird, and her close friend Zoe Donahoe.
The Bad Guy hitmaker claimed to have experienced severe anxiety, terror, and emotional distress due to concerns for both her own safety and the safety of her loved ones. She mentioned the continuous loss of privacy, tranquility, and peace as a result of McIntyre’s harassment. A 24-hour security detail was hired by Eilish as a result of the threats, she added. She asked the judge to uphold the restraining order, which mandates that McIntyre stop communicating with her and keep a minimum of 100 yards between her, her family, and Donahoe.
One of the messages, included in the court documents, said that if Eilish didn’t arrive at McIntyre’s residence “soon” he’d take L.A. Metro to hurt her brother and his friends. The Instagram DMs detailed extreme threats of violence against O’Connell as well as vague threats of violence, including, “I’m sorry for what’s going to happen to your brother dude I tried you know what I’m saying I really did try…”

Eilish stated in the filing, “I got a notification that someone was outside my house and had rung the intercom bell multiple times.” “I was able to see a video that captured the exterior of my house. It showed the person pacing around in front of my driveway gate, talking on his phone, and then taking a seat in front of the gate.”
