A five-year-old child at Shah Alam Hospital passes away after being left in a parked automobile.

SHAH ALAM: A five-year-old girl lost her life when her mother unintentionally left her in a car in the parking lot of Hospital Shah Alam.

According to Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, the police were notified of the situation at approximately 8:01 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30.

“The victim was unintentionally left in the car by her mother, a hospital staff member, who had picked her up from a nursery on Tuesday at around 2:00 p.m., according to the investigation.

In a statement released on Thursday, February 1, he stated, “The victim was asleep when she was left in the car with the engine turned off.”

According to ACP Mohd Iqbal, the 32-year-old mother didn’t notice she had left her baby in the car until her husband called her at around 6 p.m. that same day.

“After then, the unconscious victim was sent to the emergency room of Hospital Shah Alam.

“Medical personnel attempted to save her but she was pronounced dead while receiving treatment,” stated the doctor.

He stated that the victim’s post-mortem was performed on Wednesday, January 31, at around 2:00 p.m.

“Laboratory studies are pending regarding the post-mortem result.

“Checks on the victim’s body did not reveal any external or internal injury,” he stated.

According to ACP Mohd Iqbal, the Child Act’s Section 31(1)(a) applies to this instance.

“We urge the public to exercise greater caution after picking up their kids from creche or school in order to avoid inadvertently leaving them in cars.

“We urge those with information on the case to contact investigating officer Insp Insp Syer Aidid at 013-6544996,” he stated.
