Beginning in 2024, Malaysian visitors will need to apply for permission to enter 30 European nations using the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS).
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland are among these nations.
Travelers will need to obtain a travel authorization from ETIAS, which will be linked to their passports and will be valid for three years or until the passport expires.
In other words, travelers must request fresh travel permission from ETIAS when their passports expire.
Travelers may enter European nations or areas as many times as they choose during the course of 180 days, with a stay of 90 days.
However, border guards will still verify travelers’ passports and other travel documents to make sure they comply with entry rules, so possessing a valid travel authorization does not secure entry into a particular country.
With a 7 euro application fee, travelers can submit their applications through the official ETIAS website or mobile application.
The majority of applications, according to the EU notification, would be handled instantly, but some may take up to four days or longer.
“If additional information or documents are requested, it may take up to 14 days for processing, and if you are summoned for an interview, it can be extended to 30 days.”

More than 60 nations and regions in the European Union, including Singapore, Brunei, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and Macau in addition to Malaysia, will be able to enter without a visa thanks to ETIAS’ quick online permission.
