According to the most recent story from Deadline, Michael Jackson’s 26-year-old nephew Jaafar Jackson will play the starring role.
Jermaine Jackson, Michael’s third brother, is a member of the “Jacksons 5” (Jacksons 5) and travels the world with his famous brother Michael. Jermaine is the father of Jaafar Jackson.
Jaafar has been learning to sing and dance since he was 12. He has released a song called “Got Me Singing,” which he confirmed on his personal Instagram account. He also said he was honored to play his uncle Michael Jackson and bring his legendary life story to the big screen. Michael Jackson’s mom Katherine is also pleased with the decision: “I’m very thrilled to see him carry on the heritage of being a Jackson family.”
The screenplay for the movie was written by John Logan, whose previous credits include Last Samurai, The Aviator, Alien: Covenant, and Gladiator, amongst others. The movie will be directed by Anthony Faqua, who also helmed “Training Day” and “The Equalizer.” Anthony Faqua will also direct the film. This film, like “Bohemian Rhapsody,” on the life of the legendary Queen singer Freddie Mercury, is being produced by Graham King.
