Touch ‘n Go eWallet is now open for more users to apply for Visa Cards.
Touch ‘n Go eWallet started rolling out Visa Cards in batches last December, when only a small number of users could apply for a Visa Card, and now Touch ‘n Go eWallet is open for more users to apply for a Visa Card.
If you are interested in applying for a Visa Card, you can open the Touch ‘n Go eWallet home page and you will find the Visa Card icon. If you can’t find the Visa Card icon, it means you can’t apply for Visa Card yet.
Touch ‘n Go eWallet’s Visa Card is a prepaid card, which means that you need to top up your Visa Card through Touch ‘n Go eWallet before you can use the card.
The Visa Card is the first prepaid card in Malaysia without a card number and only the cardholder’s name will be printed on the front of the prepaid card. Users can view the Visa Card number, expiration date and 3-digit CVV through Touch ‘n Go eWallet.
Visa Card applications are currently exempted from the RM5 application fee and RM8 annual fee, however, a RM5 shipping fee is required. Before receiving the Visa Card, users can already use the card to spend online. Users are required to set a 6-digit PIN for the Visa Card.
Users can also lock the Visa Card through the Touch ‘n Go eWallet, which puts the card into “hibernation” mode and prevents it from being used in stores or online.
Users can use their Visa Card at bank ATMs to withdraw up to RM1,000 for a maximum of 5 withdrawals per day, and cannot withdraw more than RM5,000 per day; a fee of RM1.40 will be charged for each domestic withdrawal and RM15 for overseas withdrawals.
Users can swipe their card up to RM250 per transaction up to a maximum of RM1,250 per day via PayWave 5 times per day and up to RM5,000 per day if they swipe their card via PIN 10 times per day.
If you lose your Visa Card, you can apply for a new Visa Card by paying RM10.
