Sarawak requires temperature screening for all foreign visitors.

At Sarawak’s international entry points, all visitors from other countries must undergo a temperature screening. The decision was made after assessing the current situation in Covid-19, according to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

Individuals who have a fever or other symptoms will be given a slip to complete a Covid-19 test at a government or private clinic. A throat swab test must be performed within 48 hours, and anyone who tests positive will be quarantined at the accommodation premises. Those who test negative but exhibit symptoms should wear face masks, particularly in public and crowded places.

Meanwhile, SDMC advised high-risk individuals to get vaccinated against Covid-19 in order to reduce the risk of serious infection and death.

The Malaysian Ministry of Health will also continue to monitor the spread of the Covid-19 infection both within and outside the country to ensure that appropriate prevention and control measures are continuously implemented. The Covid-19 pandemic crisis is still ongoing, and the community must work together and play their respective roles.
