Melaka’s egg supply has recovered following the import of supplies from India. However, the general public, particularly traders, are advised not to buy it in bulk in order to stock up on eggs for the upcoming holiday season.
Like subsidised cooking oil, there is no limit on the sale of eggs, but the public is advised not to buy in bulk. With Chinese New Year and Hari Raya approaching, some of them will want to stock up on supplies to prepare for the festivities, such as making kuih raya.
Although there is no limit on the number of eggs that can be purchased by consumers, sellers are advised to impose limits on the number of eggs that can be purchased by consumers.
