Floods have hit Klang Valley as a result of heavy rains.

Overnight heavy rain in the Klang Valley caused flooding in several Selangor districts, including Sepang, Hulu Langat, Petaling, and Klang.

Seven temporary evacuation centres (PPS) have been opened since early this morning to accommodate more than 800 people from 200 families, according to the Selangor Civil Defence Force (APM) Disaster Management Committee Secretariat.

These PPS are located at the Gemilang community hall in Sepang’s Taman Gemilang; the Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Ulu Semenyih; the Pekan Bangi Lama community hall in Hulu Langat; the Dewan Camelia in Putra Height and the Putra Height Mosque in Petaling; and the Kampung Johan Setia Mosque and the Kampung Jalan Kebun MPKK hall in Klang’s Batu

Meanwhile, PPS continues to operate at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Jeram in Kuala Selangor, as well as Dewan Bagan Nakhoda Omar and Dewan Simpang 5 in Sabak Bernam, since November 11.

Meanwhile, Norazam Khamis, director of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), stated that a landslide occurred early this morning in Taman Sri Jelok, Kajang, involving a two-story terrace house, and that four victims, aged 19 to 26, were safely evacuated.

As of 9 a.m., 540 people from 153 families were still housed at seven PPS in Perak, down from 579 people from 159 families three hours earlier.

The evacuees are being housed in seven PPS, one of which is located at the Kampung Kuak Luar community hall in Hulu Perak.

The number of evacuees has decreased to 79 people from 19 families, compared to 118 people from 25 families in Kampung Kuak Luar, Kampung Kuak Tengah, Kampung Ayer Panas, and Kampung Raja Kayu.

In Kelantan, 1,483 people from 509 families are still housed at seven PPS this morning, a decrease from the previous day’s total of 1,677 people from 557 families.

According to the Social Welfare Department’s Disaster Info portal, all evacuees are currently being housed at PPS in the Pasir Mas district.
