The Johor Bahru Municipal Council (MBJB) has announced that from August 9 to August 14 there will be a significant high tide, with the peak sea level possibly reaching 3.6 metres. The public is exhorted to exercise caution.
On August 14, the peak tide will occur at 12:35 a.m., when the sea level may rise to 3.6 metres. At noon and 11 p.m. on August 12, high water levels of 3.3 metres and 3.4 metres will be introduced.
On August 13, at noon, the high water level of 3.4 metres will also be introduced. On August 14, around one in the afternoon, there will likewise be a high water level of 3.4 metres.
The general population is asked to exercise caution and stay away from beach activities. When the high tide and heavy rain continue, people must follow the directions given by the appropriate authorities and flee to a safe location.
